Carrot Ranch Flash Fiction Rodeo Contest #2 Memoir

Rodeo #2: Memoir

The first contest is done and dusted and the second is out of the chute. This time Irene Waters is the Rodeo Leader and she has challenged writers with a memoir prompt, “She did it”. (I think she’s done it this time. I don’t think I can do it. :)) Pop on over to the Ranch for all the finer details.

Well, it’s “She did it”, but if you did it, then it would be “I did it”. I hope that makes sense, but I don’t think I’ve written anything quite so ridiculous for a while. Sorry for the tardy response. 🙂

I did not. ☹️ The past week and this week teachers call families to talk about their child. Every night. I haven’t even been reading my bloggers posts. So much catch-up to do.

Teaching can take up a lot of out-of-work-hours time. Getting to know the families is an important part of our work, though. I’m sorry you didn’t get to join in the challenge, but you had more important things to do. The blogs can wait. 🙂

I’m sorry, too. And thank you, Norah. While school always has work to be done outside of school, there are key times that are all consuming. My next one is January when we write observations (5 pages!) on each child. Happy weekend to you!

Me too. And I read some of Irene’s posts. I do find it extra difficult to stick in some dialogue in such a limited amount of words. I suspect no dialogue will take off brownie points, lol. 🙂

I’m not sure about that, Debby. I think dialogue is just a suggestion, as is description, but I don’t know. You’re good at writing dialogue anyway. I’m sure you could slip some in so as not to penalise yourself.
I haven’t even come up with an idea yet. I’d find it easier to write ‘She didn’t do it’ and maybe that’s how it will be this time. 🙂 😦
