Well done – I even learned a few things about ‘your friend’ that I didn’t know!

So much fun to share what we learn. I looked ‘im up and read more. “There is no universally-agreed plural form of “platypus” in the English language. Scientists generally use “platypuses” or simply “platypus”. Colloquially, the term “platypi” is also used for the plural, although this is a form of pseudo-Latin;[11] going by the word’s Greek roots the plural would be “platypodes”. Early British settlers called it by many names, such as “watermole”, “duckbill”, and “duckmole”.[11] Occasionally it is specifically called the “duck-billed platypus”.

There was a cartoon where a platipus is featured as the one who solves some problems…Ah here; “(Perry) He is a platypus, they don’t do much. Phineas’ reply when people ask what Perry can do. Perry the Platypus, code named Agent P, or simply Perry, is Phineas and Ferb’s pet platypus, who, unbeknownst to his owners, lives a double life as a secret agent for the O.W.C.A.

I’m not sure what OWCA stands for. But when either my children or grands were younger sometimes we would watch that cartoon; Phineas and Ferb.

I enjoyed reading this earlier today on Facebook. The platypus is one of the most unusual-looking animals.
