#WATWB Age is no barrier

WATWB Age is no barrier

On the last Friday of each month We Are the World Blogfest invites bloggers to join together in promoting positive news. I haven’t been able to join in for a while, but I’m pleased to share this good news story with you today. There are certainly a lot of good news stories coming out of the pandemic, stories of neighbours helping neighbours, but this one particularly appealed to me as it shows what a difference everyone, including a child, can make.

In the Uk, Nahla, an 8-year-old girl, has been using her pocket money and a 3D printer to make masks for health care workers. I think that shows great compassion and initiative. Read the story and view the video here.

The cohosts this month are Susan ScottLizbeth HartzShilpa GargMary Giese and Damyanti Biswas.

Please pop over to their blogs to read their stories, comment and share.

Thank you for reading. I appreciate your comments. Please share your thoughts.

Children can often teach adults how to innovate and show compassion.

They do. If only more adults would learn.

What is in the heart is ageless. I read about young and old doing good. This morning I read about a gent 100 years old raising money by walking 100 miles.

That’s impressive too, Jules. I hope I can do the same when I’m 100, but not for the coronavirus of course.

Nahla is inspiring, isn’t she. Makes me appreciate the wonderful family who supports her initiative. What a positive difference they, and other families like them, make to our world.

These sorts of stories give you hope for the future, even as mass protesters burn down my American cities. Sigh.

I know. There was a glimmer of hope in this one, not so much in the one you mention. So sad.

What an inspiring story! I’m so impressed with Nahla. I worked with many kids her age over the years, and one can tell how smart and articulate she is. There’s nothing better than watching young people doing something positive to help others. Fabulous, Norah!
