I wish all my wonderful readilearn readers and supporters a happy and healthy 2021. I think most of us are ready to welcome in the new year with its promise of better things to come. I thank you all for you support throughout 2020 and look forward to what 2021 has to offer.
I am excited that 2021 is both the International Year of Peace and Trust and the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables. I am hoping that it fulfils the expectation of a peaceful year in which trust in each other becomes the norm and a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables becomes available for every one of us.
During the week, I uploaded some new calendars and calendar bookmarks to celebrate both themes of the coming year:

It is interesting to note that “We are all in this together” had become world wide.
2020 has been a very difficult year for so many. I try to read a bit of good news everyday and the outpouring of generosity and creativity has and continues to be amazing.
Just recently I participated in helping a teacher at a local city school to write encouraging notes to some of her students. Simple things continue to inspire everyone to push themselves to figuring out more ways to help others. This was just one story I read: Oncologist Erases Medical Debt…
There have been other people who have created sites where you can adopt a restaurant server. One landlord told (at least one of) his renters to forgo the rent. So that renter, a restaurant then turned around and offered free coffee to all front line workers for the month.
May we continue to grow in compassionate ways to help make our world a better place.

Those are all wonderful stories, Jules. Thanks for sharing them. They certainly help to lighten the darkness that can seem all encompassing at times. Reading at least one good news story a day is a great idea.

My computer news has a section called Good News. I’m sure one can find stories locally! 😀

Happy New Year, Norah. No way can it not be a better year (well, Dr. Fauci says the worst is yet to come. Sigh).

Happy New Year. I’m excited to learn that it’s the International Year of Peace and Trust and the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables. Regarding the latter, ours are likely to be more expensive now we’ve left the EU. Maybe more people will learn to grow them!

Happy New Year to you and your family, Norah. By the way, I went to purchase Tell ‘Em They’re Dreaming the other day, but Amazon says it can’t be delivered to my location. Is there anywhere U.S. customers can buy it?

Hi Pete, I got the same message from Amazon about this book which I also tried to purchase. I thought it was because I’m in South Africa and a lot of books can’t be delivered here.
