Kimmie's rabbit

A little while ago Kimmie, who blogs at Stuck in Scared, posted this lovely picture of a creative breakfast she made for her Littlie on Easter Sunday. It is not only visually appealing, it is delicious and nutritious.

When my grandchildren visited for a sleepover recently, I thought they’d enjoy making their own for breakfast. We discussed it the evening before and they were excited to do so, adding their own suggestions and insisting that the ingredients be listed. G2 decided to write the list and I helped her decide, or simply told her, what letters were required.

This is our version.

This is what we did. (I did the cutting. G2 did the decorating. G1 played with his dinosaurs. Both children ate!)

Such a simple but enjoyable activity with a nutritious reward at the end.

      Oh I don’t think notes are at all boring! I used to write notes for my two as well, and hide them in their books and lunchboxes. Sometimes I wrote them in Rebus, sometimes as a little puzzle, and sometimes just in words! It’s fun! You do many more creative things! Lucky boys to have a fun creative Mum! 🙂

    I use a cookie cutter to make sandwiches for my grandkids as well. They love Nana’s circle sandwiches!
    Shall see how we go with making animals and dinosaurs next time. I just may be able to coax G2 into being a little less fussy!

      I like the sound of Nana’s circle sandwiches and would love to see some of the animals and dinosaurs you make. It sounds like a lot of fun.

      We had a repeat this weekend also. G2 helped me with breakfast preparations and cleaning up (her choice) while G1 played with his dinosaurs and granddad. Perhaps it was not just the stereotype at work (her dad is a home dad). Perhaps she just wanted to be with me ) I say hopefully!

    Hi Norah. Thank you for the mention.

    I LOVE your creation… I love it much more than my own creation, because yours is wholly (and perfectly) your own, (with the help of your Littlies), whereas mine was largely copied from a magazine (I can’t remember which mag as it was some time ago I saw the idea and stored it to memory).

    I’ll have to show you my crab creation (another idea I found in a mag), Littlies Easter breakfast the year before last. I’m sure you’ll have fun with that one 🙂

      I love your creation! I found it inspiring. And my grandchildren loved the activity. I love G2’s creation too. She followed your design, and added her own creativity to it. Whatever allows for that, is great in my books. One is not better. They are both wonderful – just different iterations of a great idea.
      I would love to see your crab creation, but I’m not getting over to Facebook much at the moment. If I understood it better, I’d be there more often. Though I think the understanding requires time, of which there is just not enough!
      We did have a wonderful weekend, thanks Kimmie. We wrote stories and played games. It was fun. I hope you had a great weekend too.
